RIP Maurizio Pollini 1942/1/05 ～ 2024/3/23

Italy: Born to an architect father and sculptor mother.
He studied with Carlo Lonati and Carlo Vidusso.
He belongs to the lineage of Hans von Bülow.
In 1960, at the age of 18, he won the 6th International Chopin Piano Competition unanimously by the judges.
The chairman of the jury, Arthur Rubinstein,
He praised him and said, ``Among the judges here right now, I wonder if there is anyone who can play better than him.''
He quickly gains international fame.

In the early eighties I bought Pollini's Hammerklavier when as a student I was short of money. I hung on and bought the other late sonatas on the prestigious DG lable.
For me Murizio Pollini was the ultimate musician and I still treasure those vinyl records I bought as a young man RIP a great master

Pollini kind of looked like Chopin when he was younger (especially when he posed beside Chopin's portrait).
Rest in paradise, Maestro! I'm sure you have met Chopin, Beethoven, and other beloved classical composers up there and I could imagine how happy you are right now...
